An anonymous reviewer in Boys' Life, Nov. 1927, Vol. 17, No. 11, p. 65, had "seen no book of this type that is so clear and concise, so complete, and so careful in its instruction..." The book also was briefly reviewed in Everygirl's Magazine.
The New Book of Magic has 187 pages with four sections:
- Handkerchief Tricks
- Card Tricks
- Coin Tricks
- Miscellaneous Tricks
