The New Book of Magic is the first of 10 magic books by Joseph Leeming. Using the pseudonym Professor Paradise, Leeming also includes his real name on the book's title page: "Assisted by Joseph Leeming." Briefly reviewed in Boys' Life, Nov. 1927, p. 65, and Everygirl's Magazine, the 187-page book has four sections: Handkerchief Tricks, Card Tricks, Coin Tricks, and Miscellaneous Tricks. The anonymous Boys' Life reviewer had "seen no book of this type that is so clear and concise, so complete, and so careful in its instruction..."
