Tommy began his performing career as a manipulative act under the name, "The Boy Wonder". He went on to performed in night clubs, hotels and theaters, and spent the War World Two years in U.S.O. shows overseas. His career spaned more than six decades, and covers 28 countries.

He developed a two person mentalism act with his wife Liz. Their act became very popular, once flying on 97 planes in one month and five in one day to make dates on a dinner club circuit.

Tommy invented many effects, some finding their way into the Hugard Books and Greater Magic without credit. He created the famous Six Card Repeat routine at the age of 16. See in Expert Manipulative Magic (1933) by Charles Eastman, page 18, under The Six Card Repeat Mystery.

He was elected into the Magic Hall of Fame and was an Honorary Life Member of the Academy of Magical Arts where he also received a Performing Fellowship Award.

In 1987 he was the recipient of the Mentalist of the Year Award, voted by the Psychic Entertainers Association.
