V-Roy Hampton (1906-1983) was a longtime professional magician who appeared with a full stage show in theaters throughout the United States.[1]

Biography

Hampton became interested in magic in 1933 after seeing Ed Reno at his school. Reno would later to become his teacher.[2]

Before becoming a magician he played in the band at the circus and later developed a dog act for the circus. He also was a stunt flyer and wing-walker in an aerial circus.

With his wife, Peggy, he toured the small towns of the Midwest for forty years, earning the title "Barnum of the Sticks" from Walter Gibson.

Hampton boasted at one time of having four generations of his family onstage at once.[3]

Hampton, IBM No. 6936, was a member of Ring 24 (Sioux City, IA) and the Order of Merlin.
