Valentine toured the United States with his wife, Helen (? - 1992), for many years as "Valentine's Birds", featuring trained cockatoos.[1]

Valentine was the owner of an appliance store in Warren, Ohio when he became interested in magic. He started doing local shows and when his earnings as a magician exceeded his earnings at the appliance shop, he started as full time pro.

When Professor Pamihaska was retiring his cockatoo act after a long career in vaudeville, he offered the act to Valentine who bought it and incorporated magic into the act.

They appeared on many magic convention shows including SAM, IBM, MAES, and Abbott's Get Together and one year did ten National television shows, including an appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. [2]

In the 1970s they moved to a waterfront home in Hollywood, Florida, as an attempt at retirement.[3]

He served as President of Ring #2 Youngstown, Ohio (1935-1936), U.S. Ambassador of Goodwill for IBM (1967), was a member of IBM Ring #150 and SAM Assembly #49. In 1970 he served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Florida Magicians Association.[4]
