Vincent "Vin" Carey (1898-1975) performed as a magician (as Carini), a clown (as "Vino"), and a juggler. He was also the founders of the International Juggler's Association.

Biography

He began his career as a drummer in the pit band of a theater near his home. He continued his interest in the instrument in later years as base drummer in the Oriental Band of Boumi Temple. During World War II, he worked as a foreman for the White Engineering Company, which made airplane parts, and also did public relations work for the firm.

Carey performed with circuses until in the mid 1950's.

After conducting a successful business in magical supplies at his home, Carey, well known Baltimore Magician, opened Vin Carey's Magic Shop on Feb. 3. 1945.[1] He was then the owner of the magic store, The American Magic Co., for 20 years in Baltimore.

A member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians since 1927, he was one of the founders of the International Jugglers Association in 1946 and in 1949 served as president. He also served as president of the Demon's Club in Baltimore.[2]
