Will Andrade (1863-1939) was a dealer and manufacturer in Sydney, and later Melbourne, during 1920s.[1]
Biography
In his youth, he was an actor and toured Australia with a dramatic company. In 1898 he opened a little bookselling business in Bourke Street, Melbourneand.[2]
Andrade would later specialize in theatrical goods, which were imported from all over the world. He made several trips to England and America to seek out the latest and the best.
The business was also the Australian agent for Thayer and advertised that any apparatus found by Thayer in The Sphinx and The Linking Ring could be ordered through his shop. he also sold Conradi's magic.
He published Will Andrade's Magical Review (1928-29), which was edited by Will Alma.
Andrade died by drowning at Manly, Sydney during his usual morning swim at the beach when a large wave knocked him over injuring a nerve controlling his breathing.[3][4][5]
