William W. (Bill) Larsen, Jr. (b.1928-d.1993), and his brother, Milt Larsen, were both in television who had grown up in a family of magicians.

Biography

Their father, William W. Larsen, Sr., was a performing magician and respected Los Angeles defense attorney, and their mother, Geraldine, the early TV pioneer children's entertainer known as The Magic Lady, published Genii, the Conjurors Magazine, which is still in publication.

In 1962, Bill and his brother Milt completed their father's dream of The Academy of Magical Arts and The Magic Castle.

Not long after the Magic Castle opened, Bill married Irene Larsen on November 10, 1963.

When Bill Larsen Sr. died suddenly at the age of 48, Bill Jr. took the reins of Genii. As Bill Larsen, Jr. became ill due to alcoholism, the editorship of Genii was taken over first by Dante Larsen (the son of Irene and her first husband John Daniel), and later by Erika Larsen.
