Dr. Woods  has been interested in magic for over 50 years. A retired Solicitor and Crown Prosecutor he has written several books on the history of magic with particular emphasis on [[Houdini]], [[Walford Bodie]] and [[Chris Van Bern]]. He has given many lectures and presentations on these topics.

Dr. Roger Woods AIMC* is the Chairman of the Modern Mystic League (Blackburn & District Society of Magicians), Lancashire, England and a Past President of the Northern Magic Circle.[1]. He has been President of the Modern Mystic League four times and is Archivist of the Society as well.
