Carlos Corda (1923-1979), also known as Don Alvan traveled the world as a knife thrower, magician, and origami expert.
Biography
As a professional magician, he once toured with Ade Duval.
Corda possibly did a whipcracking act too. Some of his effects were published in Genii.[1]
In 1955 he presented his knife throwing on Art Baker's popular television show "You Asked For It!"
He would purchase the rights to Ade Duval's "Rhapsody in Silk" act which he performed in 1964 under the name "Marcel & Petite" on the 9th edition of "It's Magic!" in Los Angeles. Shortly afterwards Corda went to Europe working the silk act in night clubs under the name "Don Alvan".
Adolfo died of cancer at a hospital in Madrid, Spain.
