Murray A. Sumner (1902-1987) was a part-time professional magician in Canada, performing as "Sumner, The Magician".

Biography

Sumner was very active in magic societies. He was a member of the of Magicians' Club of Toronto, The order of the Genii (an association of Canadian Magicians), a Past President of the Hat & Rabbit club, the S.A.M. Assembly 1 and the Magicians Guild (both in New York City).[1] He held a continuous membership of the I.B.M. (No. 464) starting in 1942, a member of the Order of Merlin and Ring 17 (Toronto). .[2]

He attended the 1927 I.B.M. convention with his friend Sid Lorraine[3][4]

Sumner contributed to the Linking Ring Parade featuring members of Ring 17 published in September, 1983, which included his story deck routine, "The Fleeting Queen".
