Whack Your Pack
Whack Your Pack was first published as Reflex in Paul Harris Reveals Some of His Most Intimate Secrets (1976). Presented as a game of skill, the spectator is challenged to use his reflexes to "whack" the pack when his selected card is placed face down on the table as they are being dealt. Even though the magician does not know what his selected card is before hand, he proves that the hand is quicker then the eye and is able to snatch the card before the spectator can.
It was published as "Whack Your Pack" in the Magical Arts Journal (1987) with commentary by Michael Ammar.
When included in the Art of Astonishment compilation (Vol 1), credit was given to Brother John Hamman for publishing a similar plot prior to Reflex.
