X-Ray Deck (or X-Ray Pack or X-Ray Cards) was invented by Theodore DeLand in 1907 as a type of Peek Deck.
The magician is able to easily know the name of a card that is selected from one half of a deck and inserted into the other half.
Variations
An identical effect, "Mystic Readers", was developed by Henry Hardin
