Earl Lockman (1893-1967), a member of the pioneer Essanay film company in Chicago, became a magician and escape artist ("Locks Don't Lock Lockman").[1]
Biography
Lockman was a charter member of Chicago chapter of Society of American Magicians.
He invented many effects, including a Production Cabinet and the Hindoo Torture Chest.
Lockman provided the props and routines for Paramount's "Houdini" movie starring Tony Curtis.
He performed in night clubs and theaters for many years, and in Las Vegas later in life. [2]
