Claudius Odin (June 19, 1869 - May 29, 1959) was born in Paris and self taught himself magic. He was a long time street performer, noted for his Linking Ring and Stripper Deck routines. His linking ring routine has become to be known as The Odin Rings.
He performed in Paris for some time at the Theatre Henri and at the Waxwork Museum of the Porte-Saint-Denis. For over thirty years though, due to the kindness of Gardet (a police officer and magician), he was allowed to work the third district of Paris.
In 1903 he was a founder of the Association syndicate des Artiste Prestidigitateurs A.S.A.P. and later became Honorary President of L'Union des Prestidigitateurs de France.
Claudius Odin is also credited with inventing the Color Changing Silks in which the silks change color by passing one hand over them.
