Fred Lowe (? - February 1, 1972) was an English amateur magician and magic dealer. He marketed many routines and contributed to many magazines including The Gen, Abra and Pentagram.
Biography
He created the card routine (with Paul Marcus) called "Christened Reverse". It was seen by Dave Campbell in 1971 who developed a different method to create "Fred the card" trick (obviously as a dedication to Fred Lowe). It was also reinvented years later by Trevor Duffy as "Phil" the card trick. Ali Bongo also published a version in Abracadabra Vol. 73 (1981) called "A Card Named Fred /Christened Reverse the Second".
His business was transferred to Ken Brooke after his death.
