Arthur Sherwood (1874-1950) was a semi-professional magician that started out performing as "Arthur James".
Biography
He became interested in magic at an early age, and started performing when he was twelve years old. He was a gifted athlete, participating in high class football, hockey, and tennis. Sherwood is a member of both the Magic Circle (MIMC) and the Magicians' Club.[1]
Sherwood joined the Magic Circle in 1921 and at the age of fifty gave is first performance before members of the Magic Circle in 1924. He gave his lecture "The Creative Side of Magic" (January, 1930) and performed at four Annual Banquets and seven Grand Seances of the Magic Circle. In 1931, he was one of the distinguished party commanded to appear before King George V and Queen Mary at Windsor Castle. [2]
