A Chopper is any guillotine like penetration effect in which a seemingly solid blade apparently cuts through an object, but left unharmed.

Versions include:

Head Choppers
Wrist Choppers, such as Disecto by Abbott's
Finger Choppers

"The Chopper" was also the name of the guillotine effect originated by Lester Lake and sold by Abbot's by at least 1935.
