Jim McLemore (1894-1969) was a lawyer in his home city of Indianapolis and amateur magician.
He moved to Indianapolis in 1929 where he became a practicing attorney in 1926 and a candidate for the Indiana House of Representatives in 1940 and 44.
A Navy veteran of World War I, he was very active in the International Brotherhood of Magicians. He served as their legal adviser (1940-1948) and National President (1954-1955). He authored a series of articles, "Law and Magic", for The Linking Ring doing with various legal phases of magic and its performers.
McLemore also head memberships in the Society of American Magicians, the Indiana Society of Magicians, Magicians' Guild of America, Houdini Club of Wisconsin and served as vice-president of the Playing Cards Collectors Association.
