PSYCRETS: British Society of Mystery Entertainers was born from communication on niche magic (mentalism and bizarre magick) web forums. The first 'Tabula Mentis' meeting was arranged in Treadwells Bookshop in Covent Garden London on July 7, 2007. The meeting of like-minded UK and European based mentalists, bizarrists, storytellers, readers, spiritualist performers, and other 'mystery' entertainers generated so much interest that it was subsequently formally established by Dr. Todd Landman, Roni Shachnaey and Steve Drury as a private association dedicated to mystery entertainment rather than 'magic'.

Psycrets hosts a bi-annual 'Tabula Mentis' event in the UK.

Many notable perfomers both attend and lecturer at these meetings including David Berglas (who, in 2008 was bestowed their "Griffin Award" and named "Grand Master of Mystery" by the society). Alongside the Committee other UK lecturers have included Andy Nyman, Luke Jermay, Ian Rowland, John Archer, Drew Mcadam, Paul Brook, Anthony Jacquin. International lecturers have included Docc Hilford, Banachek, Enrique Enriquez, Christian Chelman, Lior Manor, Guy Bavli, Scott Grossberg, Marc Salem, Barrie Richardson.
