Robert "Bob" Bluemle (c.1933-2014) was an attorney and amateur magician.
Biography
Bluemle spent his youth in Anderson, Indiana, and Phoenix, Arizona and earned his bachelor's degree and MBA at Indiana University. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School in 1959.
In 1960, he moved back to Phoenix to launched a long and successful career in securities and tax law. He had an active creative life, hosting international theater troupes, writing and producing variety shows for the Arizona Bar Association, and helping to found the Scottsdale Center for the Arts.
His passion for magic started at the age of ten when he discovered Bert Easley's Magic Shop. Known to fellow performers as "Dr. Juris", he specialized in close-up magic and mentalism. He was an active member and officer of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, the Society of American Magicians, and Ring 55 in Phoenix. He was also a regular contributor to magic periodicals, including The Linking Ring and M.U.M. He wrote a posthumously published biography of Dr. Stanley Jaks.
In 2001, Bluemle moved from Phoenix to Burlington, VT to be closer to his family.[1][2]
