Roy Walton was a card magic expert from England who lived and worked in Glasgow, Scotland for many years.

Biography

First interested in magic at the age of eight, Roy Walton is a world-recognized card magician creating hundreds of card effects, including his most famous effect, Card Warp. He has mentored numerous Scottish magicians including Jerry Sadowitz and Peter Duffie.

When younger visited Davenports every Saturday, meeting up with future magic luminaries Alex Elmsley, Jack Avis, John Derris, Bobby Bernard, Ted Danson and others. This creative group became The Beatles of magic, with Elmsley and Walton its Lennon and McCartney.

In 1959 married Jean Davenport, daughter of George Davenport. From 1969 to 2019 managed Tam Shepherds Trick Shop in Glasgow for Davenports.[1]

Many of Walton's pamphlets and other works have been collected in three books on card magic published by Lewis Davenport Ltd. of London. Roy Walton also contributed to many English language magazines on card magic (e.g., Magic magazine).[2]
