Biography
He was an owner of a collection of magic gadgets. Magicians from around the world visit him and his club when in Europe.
Dr. Lenard discovered in Budapest a synagogue record of the birth certificate of Erik Weiss (Houdini). This document was published in the German magic journal Die Magie in December 1932. Dr. Lenard also forwarded the documents to Bernard M. L. Ernst, then President of the S.A.M., for publication in the Sphinx.
Dr. Lenard was forced to hide in his clinic during the War War II.[1] He was eventually killed by Hungarian Nazis three days before the Russian troops occupied Budapest.[2]
His son, George Lenard, helped continue the MAME magic club after the war.[3]
